    Sulis Hat (Printed Pattern)

    Sulis Hat (Printed Pattern)

    $25.00

    Design
The Sulis Hat (Pattern #005) is named for an ancient Celtic goddess of the sun, who was thought to reside by the thermal spring in Bath. This is Pattern Fantastique's offering for those who wish to embody a goddess lounging by the water, or in the backyard with a paddling pool.
The Sulis Hat has serious sun protection in mind but a shape only worthy of the divine. With an offset brim which is deeper at the front and shorter at the back and a crafted form-fitting crown for a strong silhouette, the Sulis is reminiscent of 70’s era YSL fashion.
There are optional ties for when a blustery air god swings by and crown trim for a little added finish. The Sulis remains soft and pliable so that it can be stashed in a beach bag or pressed into crisp perfection for special occasions.

    Fabric
    Outer fabric:
    Denim or canvas Non-stretch.
The weight of an outerwear garment like a jacket or traditional jeans without any stretch.

    Calyx Smock (Printed Pattern)

    $32.00

    Design
The Calyx Smock (Pattern #104) is named after a part of the flower where petals and fruit form.
Finely balanced between the decorative and utilitarian, the idea for this smock emerged from the memory of my mother’s hairdressing apron she wore in the late 70's combined with the handmade gathered smock she dressed me in at the same time.

    Fabric
The Calyx Smock is suitable for many woven fabrics.
From fine sheer light-weight silks for a full floaty romance to mid-weight denim paired with a Glacial Skivvy when winter layering is needed.
DO NOT USE fabrics too thick to bind after gathering ie thick denim, jumbo cord, and coat weight fabrics.

    Cove Pants (PDF Pattern)

    $15.00

    DESIGN
Part 30’s sailor chic and part 70’s sportswear. These pants are determined to be worn by the sea. Super high waisted with a back double layer yoke, the front features paper bag style gathers created by double drawstrings over the front between hip pocket openings. The pocket bags are a single layer stitched through to leg with a wrap-over pocket trim detail. A high glam shape with streamlined finished. The Cove can be worn cropped to floor length.

    FIT
The Cove Pants sit high on the waist above the belly button. The back and sides are cut to fit neatly into the small of the back and sit smoothly over the body. There is a fair bit of curvature to fit around peachy bums! The front has gathered drawstring to create the opening. The gathering starts from the pocket trim (not the side seam) and run across the front body. This creates a long drop from waist to hem without cross creasing interrupting the fall of the fabric, enhances the long lines of the legs. The hem length is marked on the pattern and can be easily shortened. I you add length to the pant leg add double for the fabric requirement. When choosing a size, stick with the recommended size for hip measurements. The waistband can be gathered in or loosened off for smaller or bigger waistlines.

    SIZES
    6-20
    View size charts

    RECOMMENDED FABRICS
The Cove Pants are best suited for lightweight fabrics, that gather and compress well. The waistband will end up with a number of layers from the drawstring casing, drawstring and gathers.

The design is very strong and works best in papery cotton, poplins, shirting, drapey lightweight linens, silks twills, rayon and Tencel.
